Job Description

About Us:
Atman Care is a Kent-based care provider, and we are currently rated ‘Good’ by the CQC. We support adults with a variety of complex needs—including mental health conditions, autism, learning disabilities, and ADHD. We provide care both in supported living environments and directly in people’s own homes. Our focus is straightforward: we want to help the people we support live as independently, safely, and happily as possible.

What the job looks like:
This is a hands-on, active role where you will be working directly with our service users to help them manage their daily lives. No two days look quite the same, but your main responsibilities will include:

  • Daily Support: Helping out with everyday tasks like cooking, light housework, personal care, and managing medication.
  • Getting out and about: Accompanying people to social activities, hobbies, appointments, or just out into the community to keep up a good routine.
  • Following Care Plans: Working with the rest of the team to follow specific positive behavior support plans, ensuring our clients feel safe and stable.
  • Keeping Notes: Writing clear, simple updates at the end of your shift so the next person knows exactly how the day went.

Who we are looking for:
You don’t necessarily need years of care experience to apply—we provide excellent training. What matters most to us is your attitude and personality.

  • You are naturally patient, empathetic, and reliable.
  • You can keep a calm, clear head if a situation becomes challenging.
  • You are a good listener and enjoy building trust with people.
  • You must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car is a massive plus for this role, as you’ll need to travel between locations.

What we offer:
Good hourly rates (with extra pay for specific shifts/holidays).
Full, practical training and ongoing support if you want to progress your career in care.
A friendly, down-to-earth team where you aren’t just a number.
Company pension and paid holiday allowance.
