Personal Assistant Required in Witham, Essex

A 25‑year‑old woman with physical disabilities is seeking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide a small number of support hours each week. They work full‑time and are mobility impaired, using a walking stick or an electric wheelchair depending on the activity. They require assistance to access their local community and participate in activities such as swimming and exercise classes.

 

The Personal Assistant will support the individual to attend both swimming sessions and exercise classes, including assisting with entering and exiting the pool if required, and helping with changing clothes before and after activities. No personal care is required. The PA must be willing to build a positive, supportive, and trusting working relationship with the adult to ensure comfortable and effective support.

 

Hours

 

• 2–4 hours per week, with some flexibility. Mostly evenings and weekends

 

• Ideal for someone seeking a small, part‑time role that fits around other commitments

 

Pay

 

• £13-£15 per hour, depending on experience

 

• Self employed, so an expectation to pay your own tax and NI

 

Requirements

 

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

 

• Full UK driving licence is essential, as this role will be supporting with driving the individual in their car

 

• Must be aged 25 or over due to vehicle insurance requirements

 

• Willingness to form a positive, consistent, and respectful working relationship with the adult

 

• Reliable, friendly, and supportive attitude

 

• Ability to promote independence while providing practical assistance

 

• Good communication skills

 

• Experience in support or community‑based roles is helpful but not essential, as guidance will be provided

 

A female PA is required due to the need for close contact while assisting with dressing.
