Job Description
JF Care Team is recruiting a Complex Support Worker to support a young man with a traumatic brain injury in his own home and within the community.
Due to a physical disability, he requires support with all aspects of daily living. He also has cognitive impairments, and support workers play an important role in promoting independence, offering choice, and encouraging meaningful engagement.

Pay and Hours
- Permanent part-time position
- Average of 18 hours per week
- Shifts primarily Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
- Weekend availability is essential
- £14.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality 2:1 person-centred care and support
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care
- Support physiotherapy and wellbeing routines
- Encourage physical, social, and community engagement
- Promote independence while maintaining safety and dignity
- Manage challenging behaviour calmly and safely
- Maintain accurate documentation to a high standard
- Work collaboratively with family members and healthcare professionals
What We Are Looking For
- Confident, reliable, resilient, and proactive individuals who can remain calm, patient, and professional when supporting individuals who may display challenging behaviours.
- Strong communication skills and good English proficiency
- Empathy and a person-centred approach to care
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour and assess risk
- Reliable and flexible, with weekend availability
- Willingness to learn and undertake training
- Experience supporting complex needs or learning disabilities preferred
- Comfortable supporting non-verbal clients
- Valid UK driving licence preferred
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check required
- Previous care experience preferred but not essential
- Must be able to reliably commute to Portsmouth PO6 1DA or relocate prior to starting
