We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients, and promoting their independence while maintaining dignity.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Assist with meal preparation and feeding as necessary
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects
Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when required
Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring adherence to medical recommendations
Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia
Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and report any changes in condition to appropriate personnel
Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
Skills
Proficiency in first aid and CPR techniques
Experience in nursing homes or care homes is highly desirable
Knowledge of senior care practices, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care
Familiarity with medication administration protocols
Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to patient care
Ability to drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
Capability in case management to coordinate various aspects of patient care
Competence in developing and following detailed care plans
