Elderly Care Companion

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Elderly Care Companion to provide support and companionship to older adults in need of assistance. In this role, you will be helping clients with daily activities, providing emotional support, and promoting a safe and comfortable environment. Your presence and assistance will enhance the quality of life for those in your care, offering both practical help and meaningful companionship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal companionship and emotional support to elderly clients, fostering trust and comfort.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and personal hygiene as needed.
• Support mobility and physical activity, helping clients maintain an active lifestyle as much as possible.
• Accompany clients to appointments, social activities, or outings to ensure they remain engaged with their community.
• Monitor clients’ health and well-being, reporting any concerns or changes in condition to family members or healthcare providers.
• Create a warm and safe environment by respecting individual needs and preferences.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and safeguarding protocols to ensure the highest standard of care.

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or similar qualification (or relevant experience in elderly care).
• Previous experience in elderly care, companionship, or a similar support role.
• Excellent communication and listening skills, with an empathetic and patient approach.
• Ability to provide physical and emotional support, including helping clients with mobility if required.
• Reliability, integrity, and a passion for enhancing the lives of older adults.
• Current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Working Hours:

This role may involve flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight stays, to meet client needs.
