Job Description
The Role
We are looking for an experienced, CQC-registered (or CQC-registerable) Care Manager to take on the Registered Manager role on a part-time, freelance or ad hoc basis. This is a rare opportunity to shape the clinical and regulatory foundations of a new, premium live-in care provider from the ground up, working closely with the manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Hold CQC registration as the named Registered Manager for regulated care activity (live-in care).
• Lead the CQC registration application, including the Statement of Purpose, policies and procedures, and Fit Person Interview preparation.
• Design and maintain governance, quality assurance and clinical risk frameworks appropriate to a high-net-worth, complex-care client base.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments and reviews for service users, ensuring person-centred, discreet and dignified care.
• Own compliance with the CQC Fundamental Standards and all relevant regulations (Health and Social Care Act 2008, Regulation 7, safeguarding, medicines management, infection control).
• Support recruitment, induction, training and supervision of live-in carers and complex care staff, working with the wider Ashton Living team.
• Train new carers that come on board in Care Certificate through to medications and moving and handling.
• Act as the lead contact for CQC inspections and notifications, and represent the company professionally with regulators and referral partners.
• Provide clinical governance oversight and escalation support for complex care packages (e.g. clients with long-term conditions, post-surgical or palliative needs).
• Advise the manager on scaling the regulated service safely as the client base grows.
What We’re Looking For
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or equivalent), and prior experience as a CQC Registered Manager.
• A track record of successful CQC registration and/or inspections, ideally rated Good or Outstanding.
• Domiciliary care, live-in care or complex/complex-clinical care background strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working with high-net-worth and high-profile families, with the discretion and polish this requires.
• Strong working knowledge of safeguarding, medicines management and clinical governance.
• Confident operating autonomously in a part-time or freelance capacity, with excellent organisation and written communication skills.
• Based in or able to travel regularly to Surrey; UK right to work; enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
