Job Advertisement – Support Worker (Home Care) (Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi Speaker)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality domiciliary (home care) services to adults living in their own homes. The role involves delivering person-centred, respectful, and culturally appropriate care, supporting individuals to maintain their independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

Fluency in Punjabi and Urdu is essential to support effective communication with service users and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care in service users’ homes, including assistance with washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
Support service users in line with individual care plans, risk assessments, and preferences
Assist with medication in accordance with training, policies, and care plans
Prepare meals in line with dietary, cultural, and religious requirements
Provide emotional support, companionship, and reassurance
Support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, dementia, or other support needs where required
Carry out light domestic tasks to maintain a safe and clean home environment
Support service users to access the community, appointments, and social activities when required
Recognise and report changes in health or wellbeing and respond appropriately to emergencies
Maintain accurate and timely care records in line with company policy and CQC requirements
Communicate effectively with service users, families, colleagues, and professionals, including in Punjabi and Urdu
Essential Requirements

Ability to speak Punjabi and Urdu fluently (essential)
Experience in domiciliary/home care is desirable but not essential (full training provided)
Caring, reliable, and respectful approach to supporting people in their own homes
Understanding of person-centred care, dignity, and confidentiality
Willingness to complete mandatory training, including Care Certificate, Safeguarding, and Mental Capacity Act
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physically able to undertake personal care and moving and handling tasks safely
A valid UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
