Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care that supports residents to live safely and as independently as possible
- Ensure full compliance with the Care Quality Commission regulations and the Health and Social Care Act 2008
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the care home and safe delivery of care for residents and staff
- Lead staff recruitment, induction, supervision, training, and development
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, and skill mix across all shifts
- Maintain strong relationships with commissioners, healthcare professionals, families, and external partners
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed in line with the Care Act 2014
- Ensure compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and least-restrictive practice
- Maintain accurate administration, care records, risk assessments, and regulatory documentation
- Review and update policies, procedures, and service practices to meet regulatory standards
- Monitor care quality through audits, incident reviews, and continuous improvement
- Ensure safe storage, administration, and monitoring of medication
- Support residents to build life skills, independence, and community engagement
- Manage safeguarding, health and safety, risk management, infection control, and incident reporting
- Liaise with commissioners and referrers to support placements and occupancy
- Promote a positive culture that protects residents’ dignity, rights, and wellbeing
- Ensure duty of care to both residents and staff at all times
- Lead CQC inspections, submit required notifications, and implement improvement actions
